How to get more space in a bedroom

Think about customizing built-in cabinetwork along one of the walls, preferably the one facing the bed, or besides it. The TV and stuff can disappear completely behind pocket doors in a center section. Along either side, you can have closed lower cabinetwork both below and above for additional storage. The remaining space in between the upper and lower cabinets can be used for display and functions to visually break-up the block of cabinetwork. Use under cabinet lighting to highlight displayed items and as background cast a  reflected light on the counter surface.

The cabinetwork is painted in a semi-gloss finish to match and coordinate with the decoration in the room. With the wall color in a flat finish, a nice contrast is coordinated between the colors. This example is both a usable and aesthetic solution to satisfy the needed requirements.
